Medio Chiampo S.p.A. is a third party organization sole manager of the integrated water service in the municipalities of Montebello Vicentino, Zermeghedo, and Gambellara.

The organization was founded in 1979 as a consortium with the aim of remediating and reducing pollution in the Montebello Vicentino and Zermeghedo areas, pursuant to the Merli law of 1976. Originally, it was responsible for the collection and treatment of civil wastewater from the two municipalities and industrial wastewater, mainly from the tanning sector.

In the 1990s, thanks to several expansion and improvement projects, the service was also extended to include the civil and industrial wastewater of Gambellara and the civil wastewater of the municipality of Montorso Vicentino.

On October 30, 2002, the entity was transformed into Medio Chiampo S.p.A.: from a Consortium, it first became a Special Company and then a joint-stock company, 50% owned by the municipalities of Zermeghedo and Montebello Vicentino.

The Montebello wastewater treatment plant, operational since 1982 and progressively expanded, now has a capacity equivalent to that required by a city of approximately 500,000 inhabitants. Initially, it discharged into the Reguia River; since 2002, it has been connected to the ARICA sewer, which conveys wastewater from five of the district’s wastewater treatment plants.

The need

The organization needed to adapt its IT tools to interoperability specifications to manage SUAP procedures as required by law and within the scope of the PNRR initiative “Digitalization of Sportelli Unici for Productive Activities and Construction.” To do so, it chose ZenShare UP as an IT component accredited by the Information System of ‘Sportelli Unici’ (SSU).

The solution allowed us to meet their needs, namely:

  • start investigations starting from the SUAP requests
  • manage documentation and the life cycle of practices
  • prepare integration requests
  • transmit opinions and final documents.
